Lava Tube Architecture

A few days off-roading in the Mojave Desert with the Adventure Brigade led us to this underground light oasis . These caves are a natural occurrence in ancient volcanic active areas called lave tubes . The highlight of the day was arriving late in the afternoon and seeing a shaft of light pierce into the space through a small opening. This evoked an instant spiritual scene evident from the photo taken without asking for fellow camper to pose.

The show began as these blue lights projected across the stage a calm before the sounds would set in. It was a well put together performance by the lighting designer that created a static room as these lights held there points while the Ghostland Observatory artist filed into their light structures. Then the show began and the colors began to flood from these laser projectors and it was entertaining! I was so enthusiastic about this Austin band and their lighting performance that I had to find more about how and who put this on. With a bit of looking I found that the work was done by Lightwave Internationa l. I was transfixed by these laser beams as they continued displaying infinite patterns. I also could see more possibilities with this lighting technology as they continue to progress.
