Custom Plaster Tile



Custom plaster tiles designed by Architect Duncan Nicholson in collaboration with colleagues and fabricators. The unique design was conceived using mathematical formulas and then modified according to designers to fit their needs.



The original tile was cnc out of dense foam and then a rubber mold was fabricated to allow plaster tiles to be fabricated.


A final installation space was chosen behind Architect Duncan Nicholson's desk in his architecture office.

I was recently reading an article from the September issue of 1956 House and Home and was astounded to see an interesting FLLW article with tips for the average home builder. As I was reading through the article I was realizing that those tips and advise were still just as pertinent today as it was in 1956. The particular house the article refers to is the Zimmerman house built in Manchester, New Hampshire. John Lautner's Pearlman Cabin in Idyllwild

The Pearlman Cabin is an alluring and inspiring vacation retreat. The design is a masterwork in Architecture. Architect John Lautner brings you closer to Nature in the serene setting of Idyllwild nestled in the San Jacinto Mountains. The area is approximately 5500 feet in elevation and the landscape is dominated by granite outcroppings and tall pine and cedar trees. Cabins provide basic shelter in isolated areas throughout the world. They are in essence a way of bringing us closer to our natural environment and the infinite beauty it beholds. No cabin brings you closer to the natural environment than the Pearlman Cabin. The location for the cabin was chosen by Mrs. Carl K.
