Frank Gehry works by designing with physical models. This characteristic of his architectural practice makes it an ideal for an exhibition of his work.
LACMA has a an extended Frank Gehry exhibit in the broad pavilion until March 30th 2016.

The exhibit is put together to show an array of Frank Gehry's work over the years. The exhibit transitions from his formative years up through to his most recent work. There is an overwhelming abundance of models that takes time to even browse the archive of the architects work.

The architects works at different scales of models and the models are in all different stages of design many projects have never been realized. And some projects have yet to be realized like the enormous Guggenheim in Abu Dhabi that may be built on its own man made island.

Interesting way to get an insightful look into the architects process by seeing the work in early and later stage models. Some models seem not to be related at all to the finalized building like the winning schematic model for the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
