Light My Way, Stranger



The Mak Center is putting on an event to help raise proceeds to go towards the programming and stewardship of R.M. Schindler dwellings. The event "Light My Way, Stranger" asked a select group of Artist and Architects to design light fixtures for a silent auction to occur on November 2nd, 2012.

Architect Duncan Nicholson designed an Aluminum Candelabra Stand that has movable parts to allow for various arrangements of candles on its stand. The aluminum candelabra was fabricated by Ramsey Daham owner of local design and fabrication firm Breakform Design.

I was recently reading an article from the September issue of 1956 House and Home and was astounded to see an interesting FLLW article with tips for the average home builder. As I was reading through the article I was realizing that those tips and advise were still just as pertinent today as it was in 1956. Bruce Goff's Ledbetter House

In 1948, Bruce Goff, a renowned Organic Architect, designed and constructed the Ledbetter House in Norman, Oklahoma. One of the most distinctive features of this unique home is its striking carport floating entry, which is supported by steel cables and provides both shelter and aesthetic interest. The Ledbetter House is a stunning example of Goff's Organic Architecture style, which emphasizes the harmonious integration of buildings with their natural surroundings.
