Building the Usonian House

Currently under construction is a (old never built design of a) Usonian House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright being built on the campus of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. The home will serve as the new Florida Southern Tourism and Education Center for FSC. The construction of the building is well documented and there our many videos showing the different stages of work. A new material Concrete Canvas has come on the market and has a wide variety of military and civil applications as can be seen by the company's videos. Interesting use of the concrete fabric by Florian Schmid has turned out some Furniture Design. Turrell Skyspace at Rice University

James Turrell is literally a light genius and has a MacArthur award to prove it. This new permanent art space shows a progression from previous spaces and features multiple colors displayed at once onto the hovering plane above a small ziggurat structure.
